&An Introduction to the TEXAS PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT An Introduction to the TEXAS OPEN MEETINGS ACT
Because your school board manages so much information, you
need to be in the know about what the public has a right to know.
TASB Legal Services has created two DVDs to help school
officials with open government compliance:
• An Introduction to the Texas Public Information Act (PIA)
• An Introduction to the Texas Open Meetings Act (OMA)
Approved by the Texas attorney general, this training is geared
toward satisfying school officials’ open government training
requirements. Included with the DVDs are written resources
and instructions on requesting training credit.
Each DVD is $65 for TASB
members ($100 for nonmembers). The Open
Government Training
Package, containing both
DVDs, is $100 for TASB
members ($175 for nonmembers).
